Beginning in 1955, Comco was a pioneer in the fabrication of what were at the time, little known thermoplastics and thermosets such as acrylic, phenolics and nylon. Today, Comco Plastics operates a state of the art plastic fabrication facility in Woodhaven, NY (suburban NYC). One key capability that sets our company apart from most plastic fabricators is our extensive thermoforming capabilities. With presses up to 48"x60", we can cost effectively process sheet materials such as ABS, Lexan®, and Kydex® into custom medical and business machine housing that rival the appearance of the finest injection-molded parts. Since all of our thermoforming tools are made in-house, costs and lead times for manufacturing forming dies are kept to a minimum.
And as many of our customers have learned firsthand, this is an excellent alternative to costly injection molded parts for lower volume or specialty equipment components that cannot cost-justify expensive molds.
